Hardcover Production Update: Fourth Proof Round and Remaining Rewards

Hello, everyone—
First, I owe you both an update and an apology. I know my February update made it sound as though hardcover fulfillment was close. I believed that at the time, but subsequent physical proofs revealed additional production problems that I was not willing to accept in books intended to be premium editions.
I also want to apologize for my extended gap in communications. I had a very difficult family situation this winter with the sudden severe illness of my father. It was hard to concentrate on anything else. And every time I thought I had an update - something would happen to throw everything off.
Sadly, my father passed away earlier this summer, at 90 years young. Fortunately the whole family was together for his 90th Birthday party so we had that time together. And of course a lovely celebration of his life, with everyone together, afterwards. But we are missing him. Every time the phone rings, I am reminded it will never be him again...
But I have been working on everything needed to fulfill the Kickstart whenever I could. We are getting close to end.
What Has Been Delivered
- All eight eBooks have been delivered.
- All eight paperback editions have also been delivered.
The remaining rewards are:
- Hardcover editions of Books 1–8
- Signed expanded hardcover editions of Books 1–3 for book-box backers
- Book-box swag, including two bars of my handmade goat’s-milk soap
- Campaign flutes for the applicable backers
- The Rabbit River coloring-book PDF
Where the Hardcovers Stand
The first hardcover proofs produced in the United States had binding and image-reproduction problems that did not meet the standard promised for these editions. I therefore moved hardcover production to Bookvault UK.
The change improved the overall quality, but it also required adjustments to the cover sizing and image color because the UK facility uses a different printing process. The third proof round included Books 4 and 5 for the first time and revealed another problem: fine white lines appeared beneath some of the full-bleed chapter illustrations.
I know that may sound like a small detail, but when it appears repeatedly throughout an illustrated premium edition, it matters. I did not feel comfortable approving and sending those copies to you.
I am now completing the file corrections for the fourth proof round. I hope to finish those corrections and place the proof order later this week. Once ordered, the proofs must be printed in the UK and shipped to me in New York. Based on the current production timeline, I do not expect to receive them until towards the of October. But they are coming out gorgeous!

So we are getting there. I will keep you informed from now on - and let you know how things are going every 2 weeks. Even if I have no news. This way no one has to wonder.
How the Remaining Hardcover Rewards Will Ship
Unsigned hardcovers will ship directly from Bookvault UK to their backers once the final proofs have been approved.
For the book boxes, the signed expanded editions of Books 1–3 will come to me first. I will sign them and assemble them with the handmade soap and other book-box goodies before shipping the completed packages from New York. My goal is to include the book-box contents together wherever packaging and safe delivery make that practical.
The campaign flutes are already designed and will be shipped separately for safety.
Again, my apologies. I stepped back from communication while trying to handle my father's care, and then his loss. I'm sorry that my silence left you without the updates you deserved. I should have communicated sooner, even when I did not yet have firm answers.

📣 Kickstarter Update — Almost There!

I hope you’re having a warm, peaceful holiday week.
I wanted to send a big update because… we’re getting SO close!
🎨 98 Full-Color Book Plates… DONE!
After a marathon of art production, I can officially say: 98 full-color chapter plates are complete! 🎉
It took much longer than I expected — after wrestling with Midjourney and OpenArt, I finally partnered with Leonardo AI, which could deliver the artistic style and emotional tone I’ve been chasing. The result:
All chapter plates for Books 1–3 are finished
Plus I’m creating 6–8 plates each for the other five books as a special thank-you to you for supporting this project. 🙏✨
This has been the largest art undertaking of my life, but the end is in sight and the results are absolutely worth it.
📚 Printing Update (The Saga Continues…)
I received the first proofs from the US printer and… they weren’t acceptable. At all.
You deserve better, and these books deserve better.
So after a lot of research, testing, and comparing quality, I’m shifting production to a UK printer - Bookvault UK - known for gorgeous, high-quality hardcovers — at no additional cost to you. 💛
This change also means:
Beautiful printed endpapers 🤩

Better color accuracy and paper quality
The next step is for me to finalize the new hardcover formatting and upload everything for fresh proofs. The moment those proofs arrive and I approve them, printing begins.

🐉 Return of the Dragons — What’s Next!
While the art and production work has kept me very busy, the creative part of my brain has been happily plotting away on the Return of the Dragons series — part sci-fi, part romance, part dragon-shifter, and 100% fun. 🐉💫
Here’s what’s coming:
A revamped version of Dragon Lure with an expanded ending
Followed by at least four more books in the series
Released chapter by chapter on my subscription platform for anyone who wants to read along, comment, and help shape the stories as they grow
✨ Backers at the $50+ tiers already receive three free months, but because this project has taken longer than expected, I’m extending that to six months free.
The subscription will start in mid-December or early January, and I expect to begin releasing The Silver Scroll Prophecy chapter-by-chapter in February or March.

💗🐺💗 Big Update: Chapter Plates, Timelines & Magic Ahead!

Hello Wonderful Backers!
The last month and a half has been completely consumed with all the behind-the-scenes work needed to fulfill our Rabbit River Kickstarter, and I wanted to take a moment to share where we are — and what’s coming next!
When I set out to create 107 hand-designed chapter plates (across books 1–3), I didn’t quite realize just how much time and creative energy it would take. But I can tell you this: the results have been so worth it. These illustrations are turning out beautifully, and I couldn’t be happier with how they bring the world of Rabbit River to life.
I’m nearly finished with the plates for Book 1 (which, of course, is the most time-consuming, since I’ve had to learn everything along the way). Once those are wrapped, the rest will move along more smoothly.
📚 Release Timeline
The first 3 ebooks will be released within the next few weeks.
Shortly after, the paperbacks and hardcovers will follow, along with the swag you’ve all been waiting for.
I’m also including a few extra illustrations in the ebooks and paperbacks, just because I can’t resist adding a touch more magic.
And because I’ve fallen in love with these chapter plates, I’ve decided to include some in the final 5 books of the series as a special bonus for all readers.
🎨 The Coloring the Magic Event
I’m also excited to announce that our Coloring the Magic Zoom event — where we’ll all come together with our Rabbit River coloring books — is expected around mid-October. More details soon!
